Case Study - Bristol Infirmary
Bristol Royal Infirmary required confirmation that the design for its new extension would meet the Building Regulations’ minimum energy performance ratings prior to its construction.
TBS, working alongside Capita Symonds, was commissioned to undertake the full SBEM compliance calculations for the proposed extension and on construction to issue an EPC to reflect the original design and construction phase material changes.
Using specialist Buildesk Carbon Checker advanced software, TBS modelled the building based on the proposed construction materials and building services. These calculations were used to determine if the development would meet the Building Regulations’ minimum energy performance ratings.
During the design phase of the project, further calculations were carried out to reflect changes in design and equipment.
- Energy efficient design which met the Part L Building Regulations requirements
- SBEM compliant report issued for submission to Building Control
