Case Study – AEGON, Lytham St Annes
AEGON financial services occupied a 9000 square meter head office building. They had recently significantly upgraded the building services, including the installation of a new VRV (variable refrigerant volume) air conditioning system. The client then wanted to know what effect these improvements had had on the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) Rating.
TBS was commissioned to undertake an Energy Performance Certificate for the 9000 square meter head office. TBS specialise in reviewing existing EPC ratings and developing carbon reduction plans specifically designed to improve the energy ratings of properties.
The upgrades that had been undertaken had resulted in achieving an enhanced energy performance rating, taking it from an original EPC rating of D86 to a C51.
- Improved EPC rating helps retain value on sale or lease of a property
- Carbon reduction plan leads to direct reduction in energy costs
- Protects against risk of non-compliance with the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES)
